Paper Adventures Team Blog Hop – Kelly’s Birthday (my first ever post!)

Hello and welcome! I’m so excited to finally write my first blog post.

A dear friend has been blogging since October 2013 and encouraging me to do the same ever since. So what better occasion for this post than this same friend’s birthday.

Kelly is celebrating with a blog hop for her Stampin’ Up! team Paper Adventures, of which I am an honorary member as we share the same upline demonstrator (and BFFs 😉 )

The inspiration for my card came from a passing comment made by a lady at a scrap camp I went to the other weekend. ‘That t-shirt would make a lovely card,’ she said.

So I decided to try the black magic technique to see if it would. There are many videos on YouTube showing how to do this, here is the one I watched.

I chose an Emerald Envy card front to match the t-shirt, and used Sweet Sugarplum (Kelly’s favourite!) for the card base and flowers. The stamp set used are Blooms & Wishes and Number of Years.

While not an exact replica of my t-shirt, I’m pleased with how the card turned out. I’ll definitely use this technique again.

Happy birthday Kelly! I hope this blog hop finishes off a wonderful day for you xx

I’m lucky last in the blog hop, the next button will take you back to Kelly – you can wish her happy birthday 🙂

  1. Gorgeous card and Awesome technique you found there Narelle it looks beautiful, I love the colours you have used. I so want to get the Stampin Up water colour pencils but I don’t think they have them in stock (or maybe they retiring.) well done on your very first of many blogs now that Kelly has got you started.
