Paper Adventures Team Blog Hop – Clean and Simple (CAS)

Hello! It’s time for another Paper Adventures Team blog hop. For September we have a CAS ‘clean & simple’ theme. A CAS card is one that has lots of white space and clean lines.

We’ve had the pleasure of Kim Oliver joining our blog hop as a guest designer this month. I hope you’ve enjoyed all the CAS projects you’ve seen on your way to my blog.

For my cards I was excited to use my brand new bundle ‘Nothing Sweeter’, a photopolymer stamp set with gorgeous framelits – some cut shapes and others cut details, and they nest together to do both at once!!! Coordination heaven for matchy-matchy me! 😉

I tried Pinterest for some inspiration but actually had greater success with Google Images on this occasion. I CASEd my cards from this lovely design. And as I planned my project I had a little voice in my head reminding me that if I was going to make one card, I should make two (thanks Kelly 😀 ) – it doesn’t take much more time for double the results. And then I thought, I might as well make two of each design!

My first card features the cute Christmas Tree, stamped with Lemon Lime Twist, Emerald Envy and Real Red. The stitched zigzag is a lovely embellishment but keeps the clean white space on the card front. I topped off my tree with a silver enamel star.

My second card was stamped with Sweet Sugarplum and Fresh Fig, with the sweet stitched scallop detail and metallic enamel heart.

Last, but not least, is the gift stamped in Pool Party and Bermuda Bay. And, you guessed it… some zigzag stitched detail and a tiny touch of bling on the bow.

This picture shows the nested dies cutting the shape and detail for the three feature shapes of the set. I really am looking forward to creating many more projects with this bundle. Especially some Christmas baking packaging!

I’ll use these shapes to embellish the inside of my cards.

Thank you for visiting here. Please keep hopping on to visit Sheila on Facebook, she always makes such elegant cards!

Which sweet shape is you favourite? What colour combinations would you choose?

Until next time, bye!

  1. Apologies for not responding earlier because as soon as I saw these cards I was admiring your skill and creativity in perfecting the brief of Clean and Simple. My fave colour is probably the Lemon Lime Twist and Emerald Envy….an unusual combo but looks fabulous. But they are all great. I love the attention to detail, while still keeping it to the CAS theme. I must admit to overlooking this stamp set too, but you have an eye for bringing out the fabulous in this stamp set.
