Paper Adventures Team Blog Hop – Halloween

Hello and welcome! It’s time for another Paper Adventures Team blog hop. It’s nearing the end of October (insert scary face for how close Christmas is!!) so what better theme than Halloween?!

Do you celebrate Halloween at your place? I showed my card to my husband and his only comment was ‘We live in Australia…’ which I take to mean he doesn’t think we should, but somehow my daughter has decided she likes this special occasion (thanks Kmart!!) So with my lil miss keen to celebrate, it was very hard to go past the gorgeous Toil and Trouble suite in the current Stampin’ Up! seasonal catalogue. I love the colours – 2 new ones – Granny Apple Green and Gorgeous Grape, and the girly aspect, with the pretty young witches.

I have mentioned before my love of all things matchy-matchy… This suite not only has framelits to match the stamp set BUT they also match the DSP!! Such a quick way to get beautifully coloured elements for your project.

So… Happy Halloween! My witch, broom, cat and cauldron are all cut with framelits from the DSP. The cobweb is a framelit from this suite too. And I rounded out my Halloween purchases with the new bat punch. The only stamping was my sentiment πŸ™‚

This picture shows the lovely shine on the black elements – the web and the bats are cut from black foil card stock. My purple potion and Miss Witch’s cape have been give the sparkle effect with Wink of Stella. And is the Gorgeous Grape DSP anything other than… gorgeous?

Here you can see the different layers of my card – I’ve used dimensionals under two of the bats, the cat and one of the smokey layers.

Thank you for visiting my blog πŸ™‚ Next takes you back to the start, where you can see Kelly’s creative project.

I hope when All Hallows’ Eve arrives you get to enjoy however you celebrate. Miss 7 has asked for another scavenger hunt in our backyard, after enjoying one last year.

Until next time, bye!

  1. This is a great card!!! There’s no bad excuse to get crafty, even if Halloween isn’t a traditional celebration in Australia. So good to see the Black Foil in action – I forgot about mine! Kelly x

  2. Such a cute card Narelle! I am totally in love with this DSP and it’s such a bonus it matches the dies. I’ll be a bit sad when Halloween is over (even though we are in Australia haha!) xx
