Paper Adventures Team Blog Hop – Water

Hello! I hope today brings the end of a good week for you. Despite my best intentions of writing my post earlier this week, here I am tapping it out on my phone in the car as we head off camping for 3 nights. I’m looking forward to this weekend – my cousin and her family are visiting from England and it’s been 3 years since I last saw her.

Now, onto crafting! This month’s hop theme is ‘water’ and the first thought I had was fish in a shaker card. The Seaside Shore stamp set is a great one for fish and other nautical themed stamps.

As often happens to me, I started without some forward planning so my shaker piece was made before I measured out the size I needed. It ended up being nearly as big as the card front! To make a frame I cut strips and then angled the joins rather than trying to cut a rectangle with framelits. A couple of strategically placed sea shells covered a couple of the joins.

I love a good pun, so turned to my Labeller stamp set for a custom sentiment in Bermuda Bay and Pear Pizzazz.

The colours of my fish are Daffodil Delight, Bermuda Bay and Melon Mambo, with Pool Party bubbles and card stock. I can’t seem to go past Pool Party as my colour of choice for water.

Now you see them…

Now you don’t! ๐Ÿ˜€

Shaker cards are so fun! I added glitter (a bit more than I intended) as well as sequins and a few tiny pearls – aqua and silver with a pretty holographic finish.

The next crafter on this hop is Siobhan with her beautiful project.

Have you got anything fun planned for your weekend?

What’s your favourite colour for water?

Thanks for visiting!
