Paper Adventures Team Blog Hop – Inspired by fashion

Hello! It was the last day of school for my kids today. We had a really enjoyable afternoon at the park to celebrate a birthday and it ended with a spontaneous swim in the river for the kids. Fortunately , between us we had towels and dry clothes for everyone to wear home! The only downside was I’m late with my blogging… (again!)

There was quite a buzz in our team this month when the guest designer was announced! We’re very excited to have The Coastal Crafter, Emma Goddard join us for this month’s blog hop.

I wasn’t sure what to make for the theme ‘Inspired by Fashion’. Luckily for me, I had a bit of help from the very lady who set the theme! We were shopping and I spotted a onesie with a pretty floral print and said it looked like Perennial Birthday flowers – would you believe that was Kelly’s fashion inspiration! So I kept an eye out for something on clothing that would look good on a card front and had success with a new top for my daughter!

As always happens when I’m short on time my original idea didn’t quite work so I’ve dusted off a retired set for the flowers, Grateful Bunch. ‘Dream’ is from the Chase Your Dreams framelits.

I double embossed the Smoky Slate cardstock, turning the card 90 degrees for the second run through the Big Shot (R). I thought it gives the look of the weave in fabric. The plain grey front I started with just looked blah! So I layered it onto Flirty Flamingo and a Whisper White card. And a few sequins to finish off!

I’m lucky last for this blog hop, the next button will take you back to the start to see Emma Goddard, our Guest Designer’s post.

Do you ever have to re-think a design for it to look how you’d like?

Have you mastered the placement of 3 sequins? I’m not sure I have…

Thanks for visiting!

  1. Love the double embossing effect on the grey cardstock…and you are always spot on with your colours Narelle. No one sees Flirty Flamingo the way you do. Beautiful!

  2. I adore this the colour combo! A beautiful take on the design from the t-shirt. Love all the texture from the subtle embossing folder and the glimmer finishes it off perfectly – Thank you all for having me join you this month, it has been really fun – Hugs Emma xo
