Hello! Welcome to the June blog hop for the Paper Adventures team. This month we are so lucky to have Jan B as our guest designer. This talented lady makes beautiful cards and fabulous videos to show how!!
My first card I made for my husband. It was our 7th wedding anniversary last month, and I was organised enough to make it in time to sneak into his bag before he went away on a fishing trip. The traditional gift for this anniversary is copper, so I used some copper foil and copper embossing powder to embellish my card.
I’ve used the same DSP on the front and inside, a simple Tranquil Tide and Very Vanilla design. Here are two views to show you the added feature which gives this style it’s name of W fold.
My second card I made for my mum. It’s become a tradition for me to use the ‘Mum’s Love’ stamp set each year when I make her Mother’s Day card.
This year I wanted to stamp with Whisper White on Crumb Cake card stock. On first stamping, it didn’t look great but using my Stamparatus, I stamped several times in the exact same place for a crisp white image. And after trying several different shapes for the sentiment layer, I decided to stamp in colour, Lovely Lipstick, straight on to the card front. I added pearls and embossed the card base using the Subtle folder to jazz up the front of the card.
Inside I’ve used some retired DSP, Painted Blooms (I opened it especially for this card!) which paired beautifully with the Lovely Lipstick foil.
The W fold is a great design because it folds flat for posting. I love this layout – it’s a great way to showcase gorgeous DSP and how fun is it to have a card that looks ‘normal’ and then opens up to reveal all this detail inside?!
Do you like to make fancy fold cards? Have you got a favourite design?
Next in the hop is Lisa, whose card is very fancy!
Thanks for visiting!
