Hello! Welcome to the Paper Adventures team blog hop for December. We’re squeezing in a last minute hop before Christmas and the end of the year. (Can you believe this time next week Christmas will be all over?!)
So… guess what our theme is? ‘Last Minute’ 😀 each of us are sharing with you a 3D project you can make if you need a last minute gift.
Today I’m sharing Note Paper Easels. I’ve made these as teacher gifts for 3 years now. You can see my inspiration and get the measurements here.
This year my daughter had two teachers and one education assistant, my son had two teachers and 3 assistants! So 8 gifts to make.
Usually the longest part of the process is choosing DSP and card stock colours, so I recruited my daughter to help and we were done in no time.
You may wonder how this counts as a ‘last-minute’ project but actually making the easels took much less time than I expected. I cut everything first. Then applied all the tape, then assembled.
I decorated the lower panel rather than using a mini calendar. I thought ‘inspire’ was apt for teachers. That and the dandelion are from the Sweet Silhouettes framelits. (Pens and note paper from Kmart.)
To personalise the easels, I added a stitched rectangle to the back where the kids wrote a message to their teachers.
I also made matching packaging – banners with a punched out sprig and stitched circle on a brown paper bag. Super quick!
Matchy-matchy me stamped in the easel colour and made the banners from the DSP and card used for mat layers. Sprigs were in foil that matched the ‘inspire’.
These were fun to make and the kids had happy, grateful recipients. It’s a great way to use DSP.
Do you make off-the-page projects? I love these as something that will last (be displayed) longer than a card.
I’m the last stop, so clicking next will take you back to the start where you can see Kelly’s impressive last minute creation.
Thanks for visiting!
