Hello! Welcome to the February blog hop for our Paper Adventures team. This month we are using a sketch as inspiration for our crafty creations.
Typically, I am very literal in my interpretation of sketches but this time I was a little bit creative with the sketch elements for my card. I have used the gorgeous stamp set Seaside Notions, I love the sentiment font.
I masked a 1″ strip on the front of the thick Whisper White card using Therm-O-Web purple tape. Laying the project on grid paper made it easy to get the tape straight and the right width. I applied Gray Granite with a brush to colour the background of the strip, and then stamped shells in the same colour.

This tape is amazing – it sticks so well you don’t need to worry about anything moving but then peels right off with no damage to the card.
I also coloured my images using a blending brush – Balmy Blue for the seahorse, Calypso Coral for the coral (!) and Petal Pink for the shell.
The sentiment was also stamped in Gray Granite – not quite the position as shown on the sketch but fit nicely with the images on my card.
Once again, I’ve only used one stamp set for my card – testament to how well Stampin’ Up! designs their sets! Are you like me and stick with one set per project, or do you like to mix and match, using stamps from a number of sets?
Next in our blog hop is Lisa, with a beautiful project to share with you.
Thanks for visiting!
