Social Stamping | Rainbows

Hello! Thank you for visiting my blog 🙂

Welcome to Week 3 of Social Stamping, with Kelly from My Papercraft Journey hosting lots of talented ladies who are really missing their face-to-face craft time! While we are all following orders to #stayhome , crafting together virtually is the next best thing.

As the blog host, Kelly chose this week’s theme as rainbows. While people are stuck at home, children (and some grown ups!) are putting pictures of rainbows in their windows to help brighten the neighbourhood. So we’re adding rainbows to our craft!

Click here or on the banner above to see the list of everyone who is posting on their blog today. (Week 1 and Week 2 are worth visiting as well!)

My ‘New Wonders’ stamp set was christened for today’s project. I originally thought of putting her on a card but decided to make something that could be displayed for longer.

I used Blends™ to colour the fairy, and added some Wink of Stella to her wings and dress. (It was tricky to get a photo that showed up all the sparkle.) My Stamp-a-ma-jig had the dust blown off it so I could position my fairy with her pen lined up to the rainbow.

My trusty makeup brushes were used for colouring the rainbow and the sky. Even after a practice run to test the colours, my final result could use some work 😦 Can you guess the colours? Melon Mambo, Flirty Flamingo, So Saffron (which picked up too much colour from the paper mask), Granny Apple Green, Coastal Cabana (which looked much bluer on the test run), Gorgeous Grape – oops! (realised I only had 6 colours, so covered it with…) Pacific Point, then Gorgeous Grape.

I couldn’t find a sentiment I liked in any of my stamp sets. Luckily I found just the right one from Colourful Seasons in the pile of stamp sets I’ve borrowed from my mum. And another run for the Stamp-a-ma-jig to get it in the right place.

Do you still use your Stamp-a-ma-jig?

Ever have trouble finding just the right sentiment out of all of your stamp sets?

Thank you again for stopping by!
