Hello! Thank you for visiting my blog 🙂
Welcome to Week 6 of Social Stamping. You can click here or on the banner above to view the list of today’s blog posts.
What a testament to Kelly, of My Papercraft Journey, and her wonderful blog hosting that Social Stamping is still going strong after 6 weeks! Who votes for it to continue? ME! and I’ll gladly put my hand up to help with behind the scenes.
This week’s theme is ‘Birthdays in Isolation’. While we are mostly staying at home, one of the events not being celebrated in the usual way are birthdays. Big parties and social gatherings just aren’t possible right now.
A growing trend to make up for this is people putting notices on Facebook asking family and friends to drive-by the birthday person’s house and honk, wave and say ‘Happy Birthday!’ I have seen lots of these posts and photos after the event. One friend celebrated this way and said it was one of her best birthdays!
My card today pictures a ‘drive-by birthday’ using the ‘Wonderful Life’ stamp set.
The images are stamped in Tuxedo Back Memento Ink on Whisper White cardstock and coloured with alcohol markers. The cars are Purple Posy, Pretty Peacock and Mint Macaron. I also used Petal Pink for some of the gifts, Lovely Lipstick on the cans and Daffodil Delight for the licence plates. I’m still working on my Blendsâ„¢ collection so I had to use another range for the bumpers, tyres and windows.
My sky was coloured with Balmy Blue, a So Saffron sun and Gray Granite for the road.
I added in some extra detail from Eclectic Expressions (sun), Everyday Hero (star), Ready to Pop (sentiment), Seaside Notions (gravel), and Up, Up and Away (birds and bunting).
I mounted my image on Pretty Peacock and added that to a Mint Macaron card.
If you’ve had an iso-birthday in recent weeks, I hope you still found a way to celebrate your special day.
Thank you again for stopping by!

These are mini works of art Narelle, love the detail. What do you use to create the cloud effect?

Thanks Lisa 😊 I cut some plain paper with a cloud edge die and then sponge over it, starting at top of the page and working down.
