Hello! Thank you for visiting my blog 🙂
Welcome to Week 12 of Social Stamping. You can click here or on the banner above to see a list of all the blog posts for today’s theme.
The blog list is hosted by Kelly at My Papercraft Journey. She has done a wonderful job of coordinating lots of lovely crafters for the past 12 weeks – setting themes, designing graphics, giving gentle reminders – so we could continue to be connected and share our craft even when circumstances kept us physically distanced. And now that things are improving**, we’re allowed to get a little bit more connected in real life, Social Stamping is still going strong! Another example of something good coming out of trying times. I like what Lisa said here last week – she is enjoying weekly blogging as part of her new normal, and I agree!
(**this week parents were allowed back inside school gates (the kids love this, but hubby and I quite liked the quick getaway in the mornings!), I’ve been to the beautician AND attended a card class!)
The theme Kelly set for this week is ‘travel’. We all haven’t had much chance to do this the past few months, and most people I know had to cancel some sort of travel plans, so I’m guessing amongst this week’s travel themed projects we will see some wishful thinking creations 😀
The stamp set I’ve used for my card this week is aptly named ‘Traveler’, another set I’ve borrowed from my mum’s extensive collection.
My card was cased from this one by Cindy Brumbaugh, aka Cindy Lee Bee Designs. I’ve been a long time follower of this lovely lady and cased several of her designs. This technique is called retiform collage. (A quick Google search tells me retiform means resembling a net.)
I stamped the images and sponged with Night of Navy ink on Whisper White card, and then layered this on Night of Navy with a Misty Moonlight card base.
In Cindy’s card, she used strips of card for the lines between the sections, but I sponged the colour using sticky notes.
My sentiment is from the Label Me Bold stamp set, using Night of Navy on Whisper White, and layered on Misty Moonlight.
Enjoy travelling to all the blog posts today. I’m excited to see how everyone has used the travel theme.
Next stop is with the talented Shannon Kissane, The Crafty Engineer (I love this name!)
Thank you again for stopping by!
Narelle 😊

Great card! And thanks for the translation. I always muse at how many words we use but probably couldn’t define if asked (you know what that’s living with young kids!). Kelly x

Love your card using the retiform technique. You chose a perfect stamp set for this theme and the technique. (What a blessing to have a mother with an extensive collection of stamps.) The sponged black stripes really shows off the images. x

Monochrome magic, Narelle. I always regret not getting this stamp set. This is such a cool technique, though, and I’m sure other stamp sets would work well for it. Super cool card! 🙂 Siobhan.

I love retiform cards and this one is great Narelle! I have this set tucked away for my male themed cards and it’s not going anywhere xx
