Hello! Thank you for visiting my blog 🙂
Welcome to the second monthly Social Stamping blog host. Clicking here or on the banner above will take you to the main host page where you can see all the blog posts for today’s theme.
Continuing with themes based on greetings and sentiments, this month our theme is ‘Celebrate’. I’m sure we will see a wide and varied range of projects today because there are so many reasons to celebrate – new baby, new house, wedding, engagement, retirement and, of course, birthdays.
The card I’m sharing today is the one I made for my husband for his birthday last week. Which also ties in nicely with this week’s Just Add Ink challenge – Just Add Guys. I’ve been wanting to join in one of the JAI challenges for a while now, so how could I pass up joining this week when my project matched the theme?!
The card base is Bumble Bee and I used some retired papers for the front panel. Naturals White embossed with the Bricks & Mortar 3D folder as the wall, and a piece from Wood Textures paper pack for the bar. A mirror for the bar provided the perfect place to stamp ‘Happy Birthday’.
When opened, the front panel stands up steady, tucked against an element mounted on dimensionals.
And then it folds flat so it’s envelope friendly – a great feature of a fancy fold.
My easel support is a stitched rectangle stamped with 2 of the sentiments from Whiskey Business. The citrus rind stamped beautifully to fill in the lower front space.
I coloured the whiskey with Crumb Cake and Daffodil Delight Blends™ and added some Shimmer Crystal Effects for some shine, as I did for the decanter on the matching birthday banner.
What occasions do you like to celebrate? Do you make cards for them? Most of my creations are for birthdays but I’m working on using more of the other sentiments I have.
Have you a guy card to share – join the Just Add Ink challenge this week!
Next is new demonstrator and talented card maker, Sana Arslan.
Thank you again for stopping by!
