Paper Adventures Team Blog Hop – Sketch

Hello and happy Friday to you! Welcome to our Paper Adventures team blog hop for September.

The Paper Adventures team continues to grow, and as any good leader knows part of running a successful team is delegating and sharing the load. So when our lovely leader, Kelly had tasks to delegate, I put my hand up to help with organising the team blog hops.

This month I had the pleasure of Gail Ellis – Blue Rose Paper Treasures – agreeing to be our guest designer – thank you Gail!

And I set the theme for this month as a sketch. My teammate Siobhan turned my scratchy drawing into the lovely digital image below.

The joy of using a sketch is the freedom to interpret it as you like, so I turned this one on it’s side to inspire the layout of my card. Can you match the stamped images to the sketch elements?

This thank you card is for my daughter’s piano teacher, which uses the retired stamp set Music from the Heart. All the stamping is in Memento Black Tuxedo ink and the pop of colour is from Lovely Lipstick Blends™️.

To go with the thank you card, I made this easel card in coordinating colours. This project is a favourite of mine for teacher gifts. I cased this one from Kelly Kent, you can find the instructions here.

I added Wink of Stella for some sparkle to both cards. And was fortunate to have the sunlight coming in my bedroom window so the shimmer showed up beautifully in my photos.

Why am I taking photos in my bedroom?

This is me! I’ve had a week like this and have another to go. I had ankle fusion surgery last Friday and have to keep my ankle above my heart 90% of the day. No weight bearing allowed for me for 6 weeks.

Did you pick you pick up that my blanket was my photo backdrop??

Today’s creations were a team effort! I have to say a very big thank you to my darling mum who was my legs for me. I sat on her couch and did the stamping and sticking. Mum did everything else! Thank you Mum 😊

I’m looking forward to seeing how the rest of the team was inspired by the sketch. Next blog to visit is Stamp with Lisa – there you’ll see Lisa’s gorgeous card.

Thanks for visiting!

Narelle 🙂

  1. An excellent collaboration between two talented stampers 🙂 And the blanket makes a great backdrop. Yay for at least still being able to do some stamping while you are immobile. Love your card and your mini easel. Both are beautiful and thoughtful gifts for a music teacher and I’m sure will be much treasured. 🙂 Siobhan.

  2. Thank you for creating such a great sketch, Narelle! I love your card, it’s so thoughtful and creative. So glad you are still able to get crafty while you’re recovering, and I hope your recovery is smooth and goes by quickly!

  3. So happy you were able to join in from your vertical position! Nothing like a bit of craft to fill in the days. Gorgeous project set! Lucky piano teacher, I’m sure she appreciates the personal touch! Kelly x
