Hello! It’s been quite some time since I joined in a Freshly Made Sketches challenge. This week’s sketch looked fun and the design team provided gorgeous inspiration, so I decided to have a go. (Plus I share my name with the sketch designer – Narelle Farrugia!)

The three shapes from the Nothing Sweeter bundle came to mind when I was planning my card. This bundle has been retired for a while now, but I’m happy to keep it in my stash. You can see some cards I made using this set 2 years ago here.

I stamped the three shapes on crumb cake and embossed them with the Subtle 3D folder to make them (hopefully) look like cookies (a.k.a. biscuits here in Australia). They are mounted using Dimensionals on a Whisper White stitched rectangle, which is layered on a tri-colour mat – Just Jade, Magenta Madness and Misty Moonlight, which match the ink colours. The sentiment is stamped in Crumb Cake.

To add some sparkle and shine I embellished the tree and heart with coloured pearls, and brushed Wink of Stella on the ribbon on the present. In the closeup, you can see I embossed twice with the Subtle folder to get the cross hatch pattern.

I intended this to be a Christmas card but chose this sentiment to go with the ‘cookies’. I’m not sure of the exact occasion this sentiment would suit – I think I’ll use it to go with some handmade Christmas gifts.

I often find myself making cards using just one bundle (I did it here). I think Stampin’ Up! does a great job of making stamp sets that have a great choice of images and sentiments, topped off with coordinating framelits.
Have you got a favourite bundle that you’ll keep long after it’s retired?
Thanks for visiting!

I love the special touches like the embossing and tri-color mat on this cute card! Thanks for joining us at Freshly Made Sketches this week!
