There must be something in the water at my place… Here I am entering the Just Add Ink challenge two weeks in a row! This week is a sketch challenge – the design teams’ cards are all lovely, and quite true to the sketch. Which is usually the case for me, but this time I’ve gone a bit out of the interpretation box.

My husband’s aunty and uncle recently celebrated their ruby wedding anniversary, 40 years of wedded bliss. I think this is a very impressive milestone, definitely an occasion that calls for a hand made card.
I kept things clean and simple for my card. The card base and top layer are Whisper White. I used Real Red card, ink and glimmer paper – the perfect colour to symbolise rubies. The hearts were cut using Be Mine Stitched dies. The sentiment is from To Have and To Hold and cut with a Project Life Cards & Labels die (both retired).

The white layer is embossed with the Tufted 3D embossing folder, and the larger stitched heart with the Subtle 3D embossing folder to add some texture. The glimmer paper heart added just the right amount of sparkle.

When I was planning my card I knew I wanted hearts but I couldn’t decide which ones. I even added some Cherry Cobbler ones to the mix. Does your craft desk ever have lots of leftovers?

This JAI challenge closes tonight – it’s not too late to enter. Otherwise, you can see what next week’s challenge is on Friday. I might even join in before the last day next time.
Thanks for visiting!
