Paper Adventures Team Blog Hop – Invitations

Hello! Welcome to the December blog hop for our Paper Adventures team. Here in Australia, when summer starts it means school is nearly finished, Christmas and the New Year are coming, so there are lots of parties at this time of year. If you’re planning a party you need invitations – which is what we’ve for chosen for this month’s theme.

An invitation I sent last month was to the very talented Jo Blackman, asking her to join as our guest designer this month – I’m excited to say she said yes! Thanks for hopping with us Jo.

I’ve made an invitation for a cocktail party (wishful thinking rather than any actual plans), and I couldn’t go past the cute hurricane cocktail glass from the ‘Nothing’s Better Than’ set. My colours were inspired by the rainbow glimmer paper – Magenta Madness and Mango Melody. It’s the first time I’ve used this paper and it’s glorious!

I cut the glasses and Cocktails using the coordinating ‘Love You More Than’ framelits. I coloured the cocktail by stamping the lower half in Magenta Madness and the upper half in Mango Melody then blended the middle with a sponge dauber.

On the reverse of the invitation I stamped a postcard type design, CASEd from this gorgeous postcard by Kelly Kent. The Swirly Frames stamp set is an underrated gem – it deserves much more time on my craft desk.
