Paper Adventures Team Blog Hop | Hearts

Hello and happy Friday! Welcome to the Paper Adventures team monthly blog hop. A special hello and thank you to Leonie Stuart who kindly agreed on very short notice to be our guest designer.

We’ve got lots of love to share with you this blog hop, with the theme of ‘hearts’. While the theme was inspired by Valentine’s Day, there are many special occasions where hearts are just the right feature for your card – anniversaries, weddings, engagements, and any time we want to let someone know they’re special.

I worked with the gorgeous Heartfelt bundle for my cards. The stamp set and punch duo debuted in last year’s Occasions Catalogue and then carried over into the 2020/2021 Stampin’ Up! Annual Catalogue. And the 10% bundle discount carried over too, you can add this to your collection for only A$80.

I’ve also used the From My Heart specialty patterned paper, which has the surprising but eye catching colour combination of Real Red and Flirty Flamingo. This is also from the 2020 Occasions Catalogue but is still available on the clearance rack for only A$10!! The stunning metallic finish papers coordinate perfectly with the heart punches.

The first card I’m sharing is one I made for my Cuppa & Cards group. Inspired and encouraged by Kelly Kent’s Social Stamping, I’m now running weekly sessions where people can come to a local cafe and enjoy a hot drink and making 1 or 2 cards with quality Stampin’ Up! products.

My card is a case of this lovely design from Anne Marie Hile. When caseing a card design, I try to change some features to put my own stamp on it, but my crafting mojo was absent this day and sometimes a direct copy is a good way to get me going.

At Cuppa & Cards, we also stamp on the inside of the card and decorate the envelope.

I had some kits left over from Cuppa & Cards, so I challenged myself to make new designs with the same elements as the original.

Here are three cards to show how caseing can be used to inspire new layouts and designs. Each card features a different embossing folder – Tasteful Textile, (my favourite) Painted Texture and Subtle.

I love the the two part sentiment ‘Roses are red, violets are blue / I’m so lucky to have a friend like you’ – Valentine’s Day doesn’t just have to be about celebrating romantic love – friendships are a valuable and fulfilling relationship.

Next to share their heart filled creation is my lovely friend, Lisa.

If you celebrate Valentine’s Day, I hope it was lovely. I had an ice cream date with my husband and kids.

Do you think like hearts for cards? Are they just for Valentine’s Day?

What gets you crafting when your mojo is missing?

Thanks for visiting!

  1. Well you certainly got your mojo going again with these! What a lovely parade of hearts. Flirty Flamingo and Real Red look awesome together. Love all the different textures on these and the way you’ve changed up the initial design. 🙂 Siobhan.
