Hello and happy Sunday! I hope you’re enjoying the long weekend. I’m camping for the weekend with great company and beautiful weather.
I’m excited to be joining my very first ESAD blog hop. If you’d like to know just what is ESAD – all the details are in the box below.
The theme set for this hop is ‘Farewell’ as the Stampin’ Up! 2020-2021 ends in just over a week. We’re sharing with you projects made with our favourite retiring products to bid them farewell.
The card I’m sharing today was made for a wedding and features two retiring stamp sets: Beautiful Friendship – I thought of this set as soon as I saw the flowers on the invitation, and Last a Lifetime – beautiful sentiments perfect for wedding cards.
I used Whisper White to make a 5” x 7” card with a Blushing Bride layer and white again for the stamping, and the same colours for the stitched nested labels. These dies are also retiring – to make way for some lovely dies set in the new catalogue. The sentiment was stamped using Tuxedo Black Memento.
I stamped the flowers and leaves using the masking technique – the flowers were stamped first and then a mask layed over the image to protect it from ink when stamping the leaves. The end result makes the leaves look like they’re behind the flowers. I used Blushing Bride and So Saffron inks for the flowers with Pear Pizzazz, Garden Green and Tranquil Tide for the leaves.
I also decorated the inside of the card with the same layers and floral stamping. As well as more sentiments from Last a Lifetime and an envelope to hold the wishing well gift.
The colour coordination continues with a matching Blushing Bride envelope – I love how beautifully Stampin’ Up! products coordinate across ink, cards and paper. The hearts are from the Stitched Be Mine set which is also on the retirement list.
And here is the end result – card and envelope side by side. Felicitations and congratulations to the bride and groom.
Next on the hop is the lovely, talented Nicole Wilson sharing her favourite retiring products.
Thank you for visiting!
