Hello and welcome to the Paper Adventures team blog hop for May. How quickly are the weeks passing this year?! I can’t believe we’ve already had 3 weeks of this month. Which in Stampin’ Up! terms means we’ve had 3 weeks to enjoy the new annual catalogue. (You can see the digital version of the catalogue here. If you’d like to have your own copy let me know and I’ll make sure to get one to you.)
There are so many wonderful new products in this catalogue, which prompted tonight’s theme ‘In with the New’ so we can share with you what we’ve been making with the new additions to our craft stash.
This month, we are delighted to have Narelle Farrugia join us as our guest designer. Narelle is a very talented crafter, recognised by her membership to design teams including the prestigious Artisan Stampin’ Up! Design Team. Thanks for joining us Narelle!
New to my collection is the gorgeous and fun Turtle Friends bundle – a photopolymer stamp set and coordinating punch. And after seeing some beautiful cards made with them, I had to get the Basic Borders dies.
The Basic Borders dies can be used so many ways to add an extra element of detail to your cards. For my card, I’ve used them to help create a scene. My little turtle friend is walking on a hill made with the curved basic border die with another border die used for the clouds.
The card base and the clouds are Basic White. The mat layer is Shaded Spruce, the sky is Balmy Blue and the hill is Soft Sea Foam. My ink colours coordinate with the card – the turtle and the punny sentiment in a beautiful script font were stamped in Shaded Spruce, the shell is Soft Sea Foam, the streamers in Balmy Blue and Mango Melody for Happy Birthday, the party hat and that cute little bird.
A close up shows you stitched edge from the dies, which is such a lovely detail and the texture on the hill from the Tasteful Textile embossing folder.
And if you needed any more reasons to love Turtle Friends, there are two smaller turtle stamps, which are mirror images, as well. I’ve stamped one of them on the inside of the card with their birdy friend.
How’s your wish list going? Are you finding lots of new things you just have to have as you visit each blog and see all the wonderful new products? My wish list is ever changing and ever expanding!
Next to share their ‘In with the New’ creation is the lovely Shannon Kissane, aka the Crafting Engineer.
Thanks for visiting!
